VIEGA Sanpress Inox Elbow 90°, 15 mm, Stainless Steel, Press x Plug-in End, Art. 435707

The press end is pressed onto Viega 15 mm system pipe, which is stainless steel of grade 1.4401 or 1.4521. The second end, the plug-in end, needs no pipe: you push it into the 15 mm press end of a Sanpress Inox coupling or of the reducer Art. 436230, and the joint becomes tight only once that press end has been pressed.

Viega specifies 16 bar (PN 16) for the Sanpress Inox system, with maximum operating temperatures of 80 °C in drinking-water installations and 105 °C in heating systems. Where the Pressure Equipment Directive applies, PN 16 holds with 1.4521 system pipe, whereas with 1.4401 pipe the system is limited to PN 10.

SC-Contur is a characteristic of Viega press connectors and not a standard: water or air escapes from a press end that has not been pressed, so the mistake shows up in the leak test. Viega gives the detection range as 1 to 6.5 bar with water and 22 mbar to 3 bar with air. On this 15 mm elbow, SC-Contur is built into the press end.
