VIEGA Sanpress Inox Elbow 90°, 28 mm, Stainless Steel, Press x Plug-in End, Art. 435738

Viega 28 mm stainless steel system pipe, grade 1.4401 or 1.4521, fits only the press end. No pipe goes onto the plug-in end: it sits in the 28 mm press end of another Sanpress Inox fitting, for example a tee or the elbow Art. 435660, which has press ends on both sides.

Viega recommends Viega press tools, such as the Viega Pressgun with a 28 mm Viega jaw suited to Sanpress Inox. On the elbow itself only one end, the press end, is pressed. Push the plug-in end fully into the neighbouring fitting, then press that fitting's press end with the same tool and jaw; until then this joint is not tight.

SC-Contur is a design detail in Viega press connectors and not a standard: it stops an unpressed press end from sealing, so the joint leaks visibly when the line is filled or pressure-tested. On this 28 mm elbow its own press end has SC-Contur, and the plug-in joint is checked by the SC-Contur of the receiving fitting's press end, so both joints are tested the same way.
