Description

Viega Sanpress Inox stainless steel pipe 22×1.2 mm (model 2205, Art. 807375) is the system pipe for Sanpress Inox press fittings of the same size. It comes as rigid 6 m straight lengths, which you cut to the length you need on site.

Viega makes it as a laser-welded pipe from stainless steel 1.4521 (AISI 444) and lists it for drinking-water installations. Green pipe plugs close the ends to protect the pipe and identify the 1.4521 grade. Viega produces its Sanpress Inox pipes in accordance with DIN EN 10088, DIN EN 10312 and DVGW worksheet GW 541.

The pipe suits drinking water, heating and compressed air, and it joins Viega Sanpress Inox and Sanpress press fittings. Fittings and press tools are not included; matching parts include the Sanpress Inox press elbow and the Sanpress Inox union connector.

How is it sold: by the metre or as a whole coil?

It is not a coil. Viega supplies this 22×1.2 mm pipe as rigid straight lengths of 6 m, and the unit shown in the specifications is the metre. On site you cut it to length, deburr and clean the end, then mark the insertion depth before pressing.

Which fittings fit this pipe?

Viega names its Sanpress Inox and Sanpress press fittings for this pipe material; choose fittings for the 22 mm size. Both systems are designed for PN 16, but for installations that fall under the Pressure Equipment Directive Viega allows PN 16 for 1.4521 pipe with Sanpress Inox fittings and PN 10 with Sanpress fittings.

What maximum pressure and temperature does it withstand in drinking-water and heating systems?

In the Sanpress Inox system the pipe is rated for 16 bar. Viega gives a maximum operating temperature of 80 °C for drinking-water installations, with peaks of 95 °C for up to 60 minutes, and 105 °C for heating systems built to DIN EN 12828.
