VIEGA Smartpress/Pexfit Pro Composite Pipe 20 x 2.3 mm, Uninsulated, PE-Xc/Al/PE-Xc, Art. 607234

Viega Smartpress multilayer pipe 20×2.3 mm (model 4705, Art. 607234) comes without insulation on a 100 m coil. In the Smartpress system this size connects with 20 mm press connectors and is used in drinking-water and heating installations.

The pipe is made of a PE-Xc inliner, an aluminium layer and a PE-Xc outer case. According to Viega, the butt-welded aluminium layer serves as a diffusion barrier that helps prevent oxygen from penetrating through the pipe wall into the medium. The 20 mm pipe can be bent by hand with a radius of 5 x d, or down to 2.3 x d with the Viega bending tool, model 5331 or 5331.2.

Viega allows Smartpress press connectors only with Smartpress, Pexfit Pro and Pexfit Fosta pipes, and Smartpress pipes cannot be installed with the old Pexfit Fosta connectors. Connectors and press tools are not included. The system is intended only for installation inside buildings, and the pipe must not be exposed to permanent UV radiation. For lines with a smaller bore, the Smartpress coil without insulation in the next size down uses the same press technology.
