Each of the three ends takes pipe with a 15 mm outside diameter, namely Viega stainless steel system pipe in grade 1.4401 or 1.4521. The branch is the same size as the run, so no reducer is needed as long as the side line also continues in 15 mm pipe.

SC-Contur is a safety mechanism certified by the DVGW: a press joint that has not been pressed leaks, so if one end of the 15x15x15 mm tee has been left unpressed by accident, you will notice it in the leak test. The coloured dot on the fitting marks the very point where test water or air would escape in that case.

The tee is covered by the Sanpress Inox system rating, which according to Viega is nominal pressure PN 16. With drinking water the operating temperature may reach 80 °C, and 95 °C for up to 60 minutes; with heating water it may reach 105 °C.
