Description
The VIEGA Rotguss elbow (model 3092, article 264109) makes a 90° turn in a 1 1/4″ threaded pipe run, with an internal (Rp) thread on one side and an external (R) thread on the other, so it steps between a female- and male-threaded connection at the same time as changing direction.
It’s made from Rotguss, a corrosion-resistant copper-tin-zinc casting alloy commonly marketed as gunmetal or red brass, threaded to DIN EN 10226-1. Viega rates it for potable water installations under DIN 1988 / EN 806 as well as heating systems.
Threaded gunmetal fittings like this one are typically used to tie into older threaded pipework, or wherever a screwed rather than pressed or soldered joint is preferred.
