Viega Union Connector 3/4" x 1", Male x Female Thread, Art. 320249

The male thread, R 3/4, is cut on the outside of the body and screws into a 3/4" female-threaded port. The female thread, G 1, is inside the union nut and screws onto a component with a G 1 male thread. Measure both connections on site before you order.

They are sealed in two different ways. The R 3/4 thread is to DIN EN 10226-1 and seals in the thread: Viega permits sealing hemp with paste, PTFE thread-sealing tape or thread-sealing cord, and any sealant must be non-curing and carry a DVGW mark. Viega R threads are knurled at the factory, so hemp needs no roughening. The G 1 union nut seals flat on the aramid-fibre gasket.

A 3/4" x 1" union lets you remove a component later without cutting or turning the pipes. With the G 1 union nut slackened, the part on that side lifts away while the R 3/4 body stays screwed into the line. On gas lines Viega bars such detachable joints from concealed installation, so place the union where it stays easy to reach.
