VIEGA Smartpress 90° Press Elbow 20×20 mm — Art. 729851

The elbow's press ends accept 20 mm pipe from Viega Smartpress, Pexfit Pro or Pexfit Fosta. Viega did not test Smartpress connectors with pipes of other systems, so it cannot ensure proper function with them. The Smartpress system suits concealed and pre-wall installation of risers as well as floor installations.

Viega builds SC-Contur into its press connectors as a design element; it is not a standard. A coloured dot on the fitting marks where it sits: if a 20 mm end was left unpressed, test water or air escapes there during the leak test. In a water test this works at 1–6.5 bar, and in an air test at 22 mbar–3 bar, as Viega states.

Viega lists Smartpress press jaws for plastic piping systems, model 2799.7 or 2784.7, used on a press machine with constant pressing force; the hand press tool 2782.5 covers 16–25 mm, so it also presses this 20 mm elbow. Open the jaw and set it at a right angle onto the press connector before pressing.
