Description
Steinberg Serie 171 wall-mounted basin mixer in Chrome (Art. 171 1814 3) is fixed to the wall above the basin: a 190 mm spout and a single lever come out of the wall separately, so the basin itself needs no tap hole. The chrome set is the visible part of a concealed mixer: the lever regulates flow and temperature, while the body sits in the wall.
Steinberg makes the set from brass with a chrome finish. According to the maker’s drawing, the spout and the lever each sit on a round wall rosette 65 mm in diameter, and the two rosettes are 125 mm apart.
For the part inside the wall, Steinberg specifies its concealed body 010 1800 3. It is not included, so add it to the same order; according to the maker’s page, the body has a waterproof mounting box, a ceramic cartridge and a soundproofing mat. Further wall and deck models are listed in our collection of mixers for basins, baths and showers, so you can compare spout lengths first. Our overview of the Steinberg range shows the maker’s other series and bathroom fittings.
Fix the position of the body before the wall is tiled, so that the spout delivers water over the basin waste. Steinberg’s instructions ask for the supply lines to be flushed thoroughly before installation and, to stay within the noise limits of DIN 4109, for a pressure reducer on the main supply where the pressure exceeds 5 bar.
