Viega Smartpress press reducer 40×32 mm (model 6715.2, Art. 733346) narrows a 40 mm multilayer main to 32 mm pipe, with a press connection at each end. Viega’s catalogue names the part a reducing coupling.

The reducer is gunmetal (Rotguss grade) and is pressed without O-rings. With SC-Contur, a joint that has not been pressed leaks visibly in the leakage test, which is carried out on the finished system before it is covered.

Both ends are larger than the 16–25 mm range of Viega’s hand press tool, so after the pipe is cut with pipe cutters model 2191, they are pressed with a press machine and Smartpress jaws, model 2799.7 or 2784.7. The ends take 40 mm and 32 mm Viega Smartpress, Pexfit Pro or Pexfit Fosta pipe, for drinking water and heating at up to 10 bar as well as for compressed air; tools are not included.
