Viega Sanpress Inox Press Adapter Fitting 22 mm x 3/4", Stainless Steel, Spigot x Thread, Art. 436742

A male thread is cut on the outside of a part. The R 3/4 end of this 22 mm x 3/4" fitting screws into a 3/4" female thread, for example on a valve or another fitting. R denotes a tapered thread, so the joint is sealed by sealing material applied to the thread, which is not included.

The 22 mm end is not pressed onto pipe: it goes into the socket of a Sanpress Inox press fitting, and that fitting takes Viega stainless steel system pipe in grade 1.4401 or 1.4521. On the threaded side, Viega does not allow stainless steel adapters to be connected directly to galvanised steel pipes or threaded connectors.

According to Viega, the permitted operating pressure in the Sanpress Inox system is 16 bar, and the temperature may reach 80 °C in drinking water and 105 °C in heating. The 22 mm x 3/4" fitting is covered by these limits once it is part of a pressed installation.
