Description

Effebi Hexa spring check valve 1 1/4″ (Art. 2301G407) protects a 1 1/4″ line against reverse flow and, in this size, is rated for 18 bar (PN 18) at 20 °C. Its two G 1 1/4 female connections follow UNI ISO 228/1 and take male-threaded pipe or fittings of the same size.

Its CW617N brass body houses a POM pad, an AISI 302 stainless steel spring and an NBR seat. When the flow stops or reverses, the spring returns the pad to the seat and closes the passage; Effebi gives 0.02 bar as the minimum opening pressure. For the 1 1/4″ size the maker lists a Kv of 18 m³/h.

Effebi names heating systems with radiators, boilers and pumps, and sanitary, industrial and agricultural water systems, as its fields of use. What Kv value does the 1 1/4" Hexa have?

In Effebi's table the 1 1/4" Hexa has a Kv of 18 m³/h; the body is 60 mm in diameter and 80 mm long, and it weighs 545 g. Use the Kv in a pressure-drop calculation for your circuit rather than reading it as the flow you will actually get.

What pressure and temperature can the 1 1/4" valve take?

Effebi rates this size at PN 18: 18 bar at 20 °C. The fluid temperature range is −5 to 110 °C, and steam is excluded. Before installing, compare the maximum pressure of your system, including the pump head, with the 18 bar rating.

Can it be used with hot water or gas?

Effebi's fields of use include heating with radiators, boilers and pumps, and fluids up to 110 °C are allowed, so hot heating water is within its scope. Gas is not among those fields, so do not use it on gas pipework; choose a valve approved for gas there.

How should the 1 1/4" check valve be oriented?

Orient it so that the normal flow pushes the POM pad away from its seat against the AISI 302 spring; when the flow reverses, the pad closes. Put the inlet towards the supply, such as a pump, and the outlet towards the section you want to protect. Both G 1 1/4 ends are female and identical, so confirm the direction before sealing the joints.
