Viega multilayer pipe 20×2.3 mm (model 4705.5, Art. 751418) is the red, factory-insulated pipe of the Smartpress/Pexfit Pro range for 20 mm drinking-water and heating lines. Viega produces this article as a 75 m coil, and we sell it by the metre.

Under the insulation lies a three-layer pipe: a PE-Xc inliner, an aluminium layer and a PE-Xc outer case. Viega describes it as dimensionally stable, with an oxygen barrier layer, and the 6 mm insulation around it is finished with a PE protective cover. The maximum operating pressure is 10 bar in drinking-water and heating installations alike.

The pipe is joined with 20 mm Viega Smartpress or Pexfit Pro press connectors; the connectors are not included, and neither is the press tool. Viega intends the system for installation inside buildings only, so the pipe must not be left in permanent UV radiation.
