The 28 mm side is a plug-in end of pipe diameter that goes into the press socket of a 28 mm fitting, while 22 mm pipe is pressed into the other side.<\/p>\n<p>The reducer is stainless steel 1.4401. Only the 22 mm side is a press socket, with an EPDM sealing element and SC-Contur, so an unpressed joint leaks during the test. The 28 mm end has no seal: it is sealed inside the socket of the fitting it goes into.<\/p>\n<p>The press end takes 22 mm Viega system pipe (1.4401 or 1.4521) in drinking-water, heating and compressed-air installations, and the fitting holds DVGW and VdS approvals.
