One side is pressed onto the pipe; the other is a plug-in end (spigot) that slides into the press end of another fitting.<\/p>\n<p>It is made of stainless steel 1.4401. Its press end holds a black EPDM sealing element and SC-Contur, and a cylindrical pipe guide protects the seal as the pipe goes in. The plug-in end has no seal: it behaves like a pipe end.<\/p>\n<p>Viega designed the Sanpress Inox system for 16 bar in lines carrying drinking water, heating water or compressed air; the maximum operating temperature is 80 \u00b0C for drinking water and 105 \u00b0C in a heating circuit. For this size Viega lists DVGW approval but no VdS approval, so do not use it in sprinkler systems that require VdS approval.
