The pipe is pressed in at one end, and the plug-in end (spigot) at the other fits into the press end of the neighbouring fitting, for example a tee.<\/p>\n<p>The elbow is stainless steel 1.4401. Only the press end, marked with a green dot, has the black EPDM sealing element and SC-Contur. The plug-in end is plain: the receiving fitting&#8217;s sealing element seals it when that fitting is pressed.<\/p>\n<p>Its areas of use are drinking water, heating and compressed air. According to Viega, the Sanpress Inox system withstands 16 bar, with up to 80 \u00b0C in drinking water and 105 \u00b0C in heating. The elbow is DVGW-approved, and VdS-approved in combination with 1.4521 pipe.
