This way you can take off a valve or other device for servicing while the pipe stays in place.<\/p>\n<p>The union nut is brass, while the water-contacting body is stainless steel 1.4401. The pipe side has an EPDM sealing element and SC-Contur: if you accidentally leave the joint unpressed, it starts to leak when the system is filled. On the threaded side, an EPDM flat gasket provides the seal.<\/p>\n<p>The connector is made for Viega 15 mm system pipe and is used in drinking-water, heating or compressed-air lines. According to the manufacturer, the pressure limit is 16 bar, and the temperature limit 80 \u00b0C in drinking water and 105 \u00b0C in heating. The connector is DVGW-approved, but Viega does not include it in its VdS certificate. No press tool comes with the connector.
