It is full bore: Viega describes the Easytop ball valve 2275.4 as full port, so the open ball does not narrow the DN 40 passage. On this article one end is pressed onto d 42 mm pipe and the other has an Rp 1 1/2 female thread.

Viega gives a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar (PN 16). The temperature limit depends on the medium: up to 80 °C for drinking water and up to 105 °C for heating systems to DIN EN 12828. The full range in the specifications, with its lower limit of −25 °C, applies only to air-conditioning circuits that run on antifreeze such as glycol.

Hot water, yes, within Viega's limits of 80 °C for drinking water and 105 °C for heating water. Gas supply is not among the areas of use in Viega's instructions, and technical gases are accepted only on request, so do not use the valve for fuel gas, and ask Viega before using it for a technical gas.

Always open and close it slowly, and in service leave it either fully open or fully closed: Viega states that the ball valve is not a control fitting and cannot regulate flow. Viega also recommends opening and closing the valve completely every six months.
