Viega Advantix Floor Drain 100×100 mm, Square, Plastic, Stainless Steel, Art. 583217

Viega Advantix square shower drain (model 4936.2, Art. 583217) is a point floor drain with a 100×100 mm top and a horizontal DN 50 outlet. Its odour trap keeps sewer gases out of the bathroom even after the water seal has evaporated, for example when the shower has not been used for a long time.

The drain body and the frame of the top are plastic, and the grate is stainless steel 1.4301. The top turns and adjusts in height. In the removable odour trap, a 30 mm water seal is backed up by two shutter valves. The set also includes a sealing flange, a plug, a DN 40 side inlet and an outlet pipe with a ball joint.

Because the outlet is horizontal, you can either set the drain into an opening in the floor or mount it directly on the floor. The side inlet takes the waste pipe of a washbasin or another fixture, but this inlet has no odour trap of its own. At a water level of 20 mm over the grate, the drain clears 0.4 l/s. According to Viega, this figure and the 30 mm seal fall short of EN 1253-1, so compare it with your shower’s flow before installation. Other Advantix tops in system size 100 also fit the body.
